Introduction: Brachial plexus avulsion (BPA) is a severe nerve injury in which the nerve roots are torn from the spinal cord, often due to high-energy trauma. BPA results in profound motor and sensory deficits as well as complex chronic pain. The pain is often refractory due to maladaptive central changes, including cortical reorganization and central sensitization [1].
