Belly dancer’s dyskinesia (BDD) is a rare and poorly understood movement disorder characterized by involuntary, rhythmic contractions of the abdominal wall muscles. It has been associated with various causes, including central and peripheral neurologic lesions, prior abdominal trauma, medication effects, and phrenic nerve irritation. The rarity of the condition and its limited response to pharmacologic therapy make management particularly difficult. Botulinum toxin A has shown promise in case reports, although it lacks a standardized protocol.
