Herpes zoster ophthalmicus (HZO) is a shingles outbreak in the V1 distribution; complications may manifest as orbital inflammation, ophthalmoplegia, and photophobia, which may be unresponsive to conventional therapies. Ashikawa et al. describe resolution of severe HZO-associated oculomotor dysfunction following stellate ganglion laser (SGL) irradiation.1 Others suggest that stellate ganglion block (SGB) may benefit patients with trigeminal postherpetic neuralgia (PHN).2-5 We add to limited literature with a case of complete PHN resolution after SGB.
