The American Society of Anesthesiologists and the Society for Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology recommend neuraxial anesthesia over general anesthesia for c-sections to decrease risk of airway complications, aspiration, cardiac issues, and fetal exposure to systemic anesthetic agents2. However, not all patients are a good candidate for neuraxial techniques. This medically challenging case involves a 28 year old G1P1 female who presented at 32 weeks with dyspnea.
