Quadratus lumborum block (QLB) has been shown to significantly reduce opioid requirement in renal surgeries. Preoperative intravenous dexamethasone not only has an established role in nausea and vomiting prophylaxis but also in reducing postoperative pain and opioid consumption. Therefore, we aimed to evaluate the effect of intravenous dexamethasone on the efficacy of analgesia and quality of recovery following unilateral ultrasound guided transmuscular quadratus lumborum block in laparoscopic renal surgeries.
